The Signature #4 Jim Root Terror Head

Orange Amplification is proud to announce the Signature #4 Jim Root Terror Head and Cab, developed in association with the famed guitarist.

Jim Root has the incredible honour of showcasing his skilful playing with two of today’s best in American hard rock– the multi-Grammy nominated Stone Sour and the Grammy winning Slipknot. He has a wide range of playing styles, which come together to create a unique, uncompromising sound and tone.

The Signature #4 Jim Root Terror Head is modelled after the dirty channel on the same amp that Jim Root plays in the studio and on the road: the Orange Rockerverb 100. This all-tube, 15-watt amp is capable of far more than high gain rock and metal though. With a full 3-band EQ players will find it easy to dial in everything from vintage rock, blues and beyond. The addition of a tube-driven FX loop allows the user to take the tone in any direction they want.

His new Signature #4 Jim Root PPC212 cab has been developed alongside the head to bring you Jim’s full tone! The new cab is finished in black vinyl with a specially developed black version of the Orange basket grill cloth and proudly features the signature #4 plate on the front. With a closed back design, the cab has a tight bottom end and delivers Jim’s signature Orange tone.

Said Jim of the name on the signature head, “With this amp, simply giving it the number I use in Slipknot seemed logical. I’ve not been to apt to splash either band logo or artwork all over things, but this will be the beginning of the end of that…maybe”

To complement Jim’s own style and image, the Signature #4 Terror Head is formidable and attention grabbing, featuring the vintage ‘Pics Only’ logo in white on a black chassis. The rear of the amp has both the Slipknot and Stone Sour logos.

Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar

Marr is best known, of course, as the strikingly dynamic and influential anti-hero guitarist-arranger-all-around-musical-wunderkind behind Manchester quartet the Smiths, which virtually redefined and ruled U.K. pop throughout the 1980s. A master of melody, layering and texture, Marr has always brought his own instantly identifiable ringing, jangling genius to the proceedings, as he has done in post-Smiths stints with The The, Electronic, the Pretenders and Johnny Marr and the Healers, and right up to the present with Modest Mouse, the Cribs and innumerable guest appearances.

The Johnny Marr signature Jaguar is a fantastically non-standard version of the model that is as distinctive as the sounds Marr wrings from it, with a wealth of highly specialized features including:

· Custom-wound Bare Knuckle® Johnny Marr single-coil neck and bridge pickups.
· Custom-shaped maple neck based on Marr’s 1965 Jaguar, with vintage-style truss rod, lacquer finish and Marr’s signature on the front of the headstock.
· Four-position blade-style pickup switch mounted to the lower-horn chrome plate (bridge, bridge and neck in parallel, neck, bridge and neck in series).
· Two upper-horn slide switches (universal bright and pickup switch position four bright).
· Jaguar bridge with Mustang® saddles, nylon bridge post inserts for improved stability, chrome cover and vintage-style floating tremolo tailpiece.
·“Taller” tremolo arm with arm-sleeve nylon insert to prevent arm swing.

Other premium features include the classic Jaguar 24” scale length, lacquer-finished alder body, 7.25”-radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 vintage-style frets, master volume and tone controls, three-ply pickguard (white-black-white) and chrome hardware. Accessories include a custom case with blue crushed velvet interior, strap, cable and flatwound strings. Available in Olympic White and Metallic KO (a distinctive orange tint derived from the heavily faded Candy Apple Red finish of one of Marr’s favorite ’60s-era Fender models).

4 Amigos Arlington Texas Guitar Show

The show will be at the Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ballpark Way on Saturday, October 15th – 10 AM to 5 PM & Sunday, October 16th – 10 AM to 5 PM. General admission for the show is $15. Children eleven years of age and younger admitted free if accompanied by an adult.

Those wishing to attend the closed session on Friday afternoon may gain entrance by paying a VIP early bird fee. This entitles the VIP to enter the show at noon Friday to preview those great buys. The fee is $250 for the Arlington show.

According to the 4 Amigos Guitar Shows website, all events are buy-sell-trade shows, where you as an attendee may bring all the musical instruments or related items you can carry to sell, trade, or have appraised. By getting bids from several exhibitors, you can quickly establish the market value of an item, and proceed to sell or trade with confidence.

You may see everything from guitars, amps, banjos, mandolins, effects, memorabilia, sound gear, parts, records, drums, violins, books, accessories, online companies, manufacturers, retail stores, builders, and repairmen, to celebrities who attend the event. Taylor Guitars 2011 Fall Limited Edition guitars

Anchoring the Fall LTDs are cocobolo and koa, two exceptional tonewoods with signature acoustic voices. Usually reserved for Taylor’s exclusive Presentation Series or Build to Order menu, cocobolo is paired with Sitka spruce tops on two models: the GA-LTD and the GS-LTD. Additional cocobolo touches include top edge trim, and a backstrap, offset by creamy maple binding. Gorgeous AA-grade koa distinguishes a quartet of all-koa limiteds, which feature a shaded edgeburst around the body and neck, and bound with rich rosewood. The koa LTDs are offered as the GA-LTD, GS-LTD or in a pair of 12-Fret GA and GC models, and with an option of an optional Engelmann spruce top. Both the koa and cocobolo LTDs feature Taylor’s premium CV bracing for sweet, responsive tone and a Venetian cutaway.

Inspired by the visual aesthetics of the cocobolo and koa they selected, Bob Taylor and senior luthiers Larry Breedlove and Andy Powers embraced a wood-rich appointment scheme, incorporating laser-cut cocobolo, koa, and boxwood into new rosette and fretboard inlay designs.The cocobolo LTDs feature a rosette of cocobolo and contrasting boxwood in an S-curve design, and a new Split Diamond fretboard inlay in boxwood. The koa LTDs also boast detailed appointments that include a rosette motif similar to the cocobolo series, but with a wood pairing of koa and boxwood. The same woods are used for Taylor’s intricate Engraved Twist fretboard inlay, a fresh take on a well-loved design.

Not be outdone, players who crave rosewood’s classic tone and are looking for exceptional value will be drawn to the 400 Series and Nylon Series Limiteds. The 400 Series LTDs feature Indian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, with bonus appointments that include a Small Diamond fretboard inlay and gold tuners. Four models are available: a 410ce-LTD, 412ce-LTD, 414ce-LTD or 416ce-LTD. In a twist, Taylor’s rosewood laminate NS24 receives a top swap to feature solid cedar, which adds extra warmth to nylon’s evocative tone. The guitars are offered either as an NS24ce or a non-cutaway NS24e.

The cocobolo, koa and rosewood 400 Series limiteds come equipped with Taylor Expression System® electronics and in a hardshell case, while the nylon-string limiteds come in a hardshell bag with Taylor’s ES-N® pickup.
