My teaching approach :
Performed classical, jazz, rock, bluegrass, C&W, R&B, folk, funk, hip hop and more. Spent 22 years as a guitarist with the Army bands. Early lessons involve note reading and chords, proper left and right hand technique. Prefer to start beginners from age 8 in a classical book to form a good base and learn to use fingers on strumming hand, but will teach proper flat pick technique as well.

Have studied classical with Christopher Parkening. Earned B.A. in classical guitar at Salisbury U., Salisbury, Md. Studied jazz with Joe Pass, John Lilley of The Hooters, and Danny Gatton, No. 63 on Rolling Stone's '100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.'
Fee Schedule :
$88 a month will get you four half-hour lessons. If your lesson day occurs five times during a month I ask an extra $3 to cover my studio rent if I don't cancel that fifth lesson. (I seldom cancel them.) 45-minute lessons run $125/mo., 1-hour lessons are $160/mo.
My cancellation/booking policy :
Makeup lessons are offered for missed lessons with prior cancellation notice. Generally there are no excused absences nor refunds for missed lessons unless I have to cancel them myself. Basically, if you miss it it's on you. If I miss it it's on me.
