My teaching approach :
My approach is to have the student enjoy learning, by showing them how their practice efforts directly relate to the music they aspire to play.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following
A lesson in the midst of a student's learning will start with going over any questions that came up in practicing the previous lesson, the student's perforning the lesson, my critque of the performance, and finally new material to progress the student's playing.
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following
An initial lesson will involve assesing the student's ability by finding out how long they've been playing, what they enjoy playing, and listening to how they perform that music. They then advise what they'd like to accomplish, I advise what they need to accomplish their goals, and immediately give them work to achieve those goals.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following
The ideal student listens to a variety of music, has a favorite style or artist, developes the technical ability to play, correctly performs the previous lesson and makes progress in their playing every week.
Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:
Monday - Friday 6:30PM - 8:00PM(individual needs can be accomodated) Weekends by appointment.
