My teaching approach :
I am a graduate of Guitar Institute of Technology. I teach all levels. I specialize in rock and contemporary styles. I give my students the tools they need to succeed. Scales-Arpeggios-Theory.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following
Lessons are a half hour per week format. I hand out most paperwork although I do recommend various books. I do have a structured curriculum that I follow, but students are encouraged to bring in any items of interest such as songs, etc.
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following
The introductory lesson is geared around assessing what the students level of knowledge is and what areas need to be addressed. This is easy with beginning students but with intermediate and advanced students we spend some time discussing goals and how to best achieve them.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following
My Ideal student is one who is hungry for knowledge. Age and other factors are irrelevant. I enjoy teaching and helping students reach their full potential.
Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:
I teach weekdays and Saturdays from as early as 12:00 to 6:00. Later times are available upon request.
My influences are:
My early influences were classic rock and folk music oriented. I later became influenced by progressive rock and jazz. I try to incorporate many diverse influences into my music including acoustic 12 string, mandolin, keyboards, banjo, etc. Some of my favorite artists include Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Frank Gambale, John Petruci, Alan Holdsworth, etc.
Fee Schedule :
Lessons are $90 per month for a half hour lesson per week (4 weeks)
My cancellation/booking policy :
I am very flexible with rescheduling and give all my students the benefit of one free miss without being charged for the missed lesson.
