My teaching approach :

20 years playing experience. Approach is to teach students to play songs they love by their favorite artists. For beginner this may often mean playing simplified versions. Beginners learn chords first and then move on to learning how to read music, individual notes on guitar, scales, etc.

It's hard to describe what a typical guitar lesson is, because I customize every lesson to each students own goals and level of playing.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

In the introductory lesson I learn why the student wants to play guitar and their specific goals for learning to play. I asses their current level of playing if they have some prior knowledge and playing skill. It they are an absolute beginner and have to prior experience I get them started learning the fundamentals that must come first to play any song.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

Someone that is self-motivated. They practice willing every week. They practice everyday. Someone who shows up on time and is consistent in coming to lessons on a week to week basis.

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

I teach Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Primary three influences are Eric Clapton, Metallica, Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Fee Schedule :

Lessons are $25 per half-hour and $40 per hour. Payment typically made at each lesson. However, student my choose to pay for month's lessons in advance or bi-weekly.

My cancellation/booking policy :

Must know 1 week in advance if going to cancel expect in cases of emergencies or extenuating circumstances.
