My teaching approach :
My approach to teaching is simple, I teach you in the direction you would like to go, I try to make you the guitar player you want to be. I will show you how to read and write music, learn scales, chords, and how to construct and improvise a solo properly. I will use books i think fit you best. I will have you get 'music theory for guitar' by tom kolb to start you off.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following
We will warm up by stretching out our hands and forearms, then we will play some finger independecy exercises, and then we will move on to the subject matter for that day.
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following
Before the first lesson even takes place i will ask you how long you have been playing and what you generally practice. Then i will ask you to show me some things you can play at the lesson and I will give you some exercises to see how cordinated your hands are. for intermidiate to advanced we will jam a little so i can see the techniques you like to use.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following
Someone willing to learn and who has a love and passion for music. If you dont practice when your at home you will not progress much.
