The goal of Joey's instruction is always to help a student learn and get to a point that THEY want to get to, while making sure all the important things are covered that will 1.) help them succeed in the future and 2.) understand how to communicate with others musicians who they play with. Students are encouraged to bring in CDs with songs that they would like to work on.
