A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

For newer students, I begin with the basics. I also like to begin teaching both rhythm guitar (e.g. power chords, bar chords and open chords) along with lead guitar and the main lead techniques (e.g. hammering, pull-offs, sliding and bending). After the intro, most students have a preference and I'm happy to focus on songs that you want to learn, especially if they happen to illustrate the techniques I'm teaching.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

I assess my students' skills by listening to them play. I'll ask them if they can play the major and minor chords or not. I also ask them about their experience with music and the guitar.

My ideal student is someone who loves music and likes to learn. Learning the guitar is fun, but takes a little persistence and effort.
