Hip, fun, and useful guitar lessons. Acoustic and Electric. Reliable full-time teacher with 30+ students a week. Over 10 years of teaching experience. Lessons are once a week in your home. Save time. I come to you! Great for home-schoolers. Affordable prices. Flexible payments and flexible lesson times. Learn the basics to more advanced theory and technique while having fun and, most importantly, developing a style that can be applied to playing with real musicians and making your own music. There's more to it than just the notes in a book!
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following
I usually speak to the student about the music they have been listening to and we compare what they've been listening to what they've been learning. Next we review the last lesson and then we work on songs or spend a little time improvising in a way that combines what they're hearing in the music they are currently listening to and their past lessons along with new information.
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following
With younger students it's important to see how they physically handle the guitar. How the pick is held, where the left hand is placed etc. are all good signs of someone's current playing ability. It's also important to know the student's listening habits and encourage them to listen to music regularly so they have something tangible to compare what they're learning to.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following
Prepared. Has a clear goal. An ideal student usually has a style of music or favorite guitarist in mind to mimmic.
