My teaching approach :

An accomplished guitarist for over 20 years, I provide lessons for students in several locations in the region. While all of my students are introduced to fundamentals such as note reading and music theory, I also believe that every guitar student should be familiar with the wide variety of styles and genres in which the guitar plays a role including classical, jazz, improv & more.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

My students always take part in selecting the songs and exercises we practice from their very first lessons, whether they wish to focus on electric or acoustic guitar! Along with learning music fundamentals such as left and right hand (finger-picking) techniques, note reading and music theory, we may also study the skills required for accompanying songs including strumming chords, flat picking, improvisation and song-writing as well!!

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

After warming up with technique exercises and reviewing the prior weeks lessons, we typically practice a student's chosen songs and address any new challenges or questions!
