My teaching approach :

I have a Masters In Music Education, and have taught Classical and electric guitar at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, and at Texas Woman's University in Denton Texas. I have over 20 years experience playing and teaching the guitar, and have the ability to teach even the most advanced music theory concepts to even the youngest students.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

Generally, the lessons start with a warm-up exercise to focus on specific techniques. Then students are taught how to sightread music, and where the notes are located at on the guitar. As the lessons advance, we focus on more specific instruction, such as classical techniques, blues, country, etc. as well as how to write your now songs.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

There is no typical first lesson since not all students are at the same level. Generally we discuss the components of the guitar, start on technical exercises, and introduce the student to reading music.

Lessons are held one hour a week, between Sunday and Thursday, and are usually between 1 and 9 at night.

Fee Schedule :

Students pay $160 per month, which is $40 a week per hour. On months that you have five lessons, you will receive a free lesson as a reward for perfect attendance.
