My teaching approach :

My approach to teaching is one of adaptation. I try to get a feel for what way is easiest for the student to learn and practice so that they can progress quicker. If the student is having a hard time learning a technique through one method, I will develop or try other methods and see which one they have an easier time with.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

According to where a student is at, a typical lesson will begin with warm ups or a review of the previous lesson to ensure that the student grasped the concept. For the bulk of the class he/she will learn a new technique/practice a technique that is being learned, or both, depending also on the difficulty of the technique and the student's ability to pick it up. For the finish of the class I usually let my student pick a tune and we play together

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

I will explain the basic concepts of guitar playing and give them a few different exercises dealing with the different aspects of guitar playing such as finger coordination, timing, strum, beat, and chords.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

A student that has a desire of their own to learn, they're not learning because they feel obligated - they're teaching because they want to learn and be able to play the guitar. A student that is willing to practice in between class days, and who will be open to listening and trying different techniques.

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

I can usually teach 3 weekdays, and the weekends. Sometimes can teach on all 5 weekdays.

The Beatles, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Paramore, Hans Zimmer, Joe Satriani.

Fee Schedule :

I charge $25 per hour, or $15 for half an hour.

My cancellation/booking policy :

Can be last minute, preferably a day before. Just call me if you can't make it, and I will call you if I cannot.
