My teaching approach :

Learn guitar by building a repertoire. Ear training, music theory, improvisation, playing technique, and practice methods are all incorporated into the songs you learn.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

You play some chordal and scalar exercises, and then something from your repertoire. Then we will discuss new exercises and ideas to incorporate into your daily practice. There will be some music theory discussion, followed by ear training (figuring out songs by ear).

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

The introductory lesson involves determining the student's goals and musical taste. Then I will determine his/her knowledge of music theory, and ability to play chords, scales, and arpeggios.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

An ideal guitar student is someone who is eager to learn and understands that you need to practice EVERY day.

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Afternoons and Evenings, 7 days/week

Fee Schedule :

$20 for 1/2 hour. I may recommend 1-hour lessons at $40 for true beginners.

My cancellation/booking policy :

I don't keep many students, so it is easy to reschedule for another time.
