My teaching approach :

I am very application oriented. Books are important, but I never was a "page turner." The student's interests are first and foremost, and it's my job to provide them with the proper tools, as well as introduce them to other avenues, especially in terms of songwriting, working with a band, and performing in a live/studio environment. Songs are examined, demonstrated, and taught, but the real joy comes from encouraging the students to be creative and find their own niche and write their own.

Encourage, encourage, encourage!!! I look at a student's playing from every angle, and simultaneously work on taking a weakness and turning into a strength, while taking something strong and making it stronger.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

One who is dedicated not only to playing, but also looking for something better. To love music, but not at the expense of what really matters.

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Monday- Friday 2:00 - 8:30, except Thursday; 5:00 - 9:00
