My teaching approach :

I tailor each lesson according to the students abilities and needs. I teach many styles on electric and acoustic guitar including jazz, rock, bluegrass, country and pop just to name a few.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

A lot depends on the student's ability and technique but generally I spend about 40 minutes of an hour lesson on technique which would include scales, chords, pick and/or finger technique and reading. The last twenty minutes or so would be spent working on learning a song of the students choosing.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

In an introductory lesson for a beginner I would work on getting familiar with the guitars parts and names. I would then teach a simple finger exercise to work on pick and finger dexterity and after that I would work on a few basic chords. For a student who has already studied, I would assess their ability by having them play some techniques that I would ask of them or have them play a piece of music for me.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

My ideal student would love the guitar but more importantly, would love music because it takes a lot of hard work to learn an instrument and without the inspiration that a love of music will give you, it will be very hard if not impossible to learn.

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Tuesday through Friday from 2PM until 10PM

I truly love all music that is played sincerely and with passion. That said a few of my influences would be: Jimmy Page, Jim Hall, John Scofield, Bill Frisell, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Clarence White, James Burton, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Pat Metheny and the list goes on and on........

Fee Schedule :

1/2 hour = $55 1 hour = $75

My cancellation/booking policy :

Lessons are booked a week or a month in advance and cancellations must be made 24hrs. in advance of the lesson or the student will be charged for that lesson. A make-up lesson will be given within a month of the cancellation if it is possible.
