My teaching approach :
YOUR music is a personal journey and I'm simply your guide, helping you on your way. I challenge my students, I get them to come out of the comfort zone and bloom into what they are supposed to be as a guitar player, as a musician. ABOUT ME: I have been playing guitar since the age of 9, taking private lessons as a youth here in NY with a Berklee Grad. I also studied advanced playing techniques and Music Theory with my friend Mike Campese of Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following
Every lesson is different depending on the student but what I typically like to do is first go over a few hand exercises for dexterity and warm up, go over what the student is currently working on, work on something new; (a new scale, technique, new chords etc.) I have been teaching guitar for 16 years. Each student is different with different needs. So there is no one size fits all "Method"
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following
The first lesson is really us introducing ourselves and getting a feel of where you are at as a guitar player. We touch on the biggest challenge being faced at the moment on the instrument. I also let the student describe to me where they want to go musically and we work on it! Everyone is different with different challenges; it's about listening as much as it is teaching. :-)
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following
One that wants to truly learn, grow. REMEMBER THESE TWO THINGS: DON'T STOP, AND KEEP GOING!
