My teaching approach :

I am a professional musician graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston. I have more than 15 years of TEACHING experience, having taught students from all skill levels. I believe in following a teaching plan based upon each student's goals. Instead of following a book or the same process for all my students I focus on using the best tools to help them achieve their goals

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

For me repertoire, playing ACTUAL SONGS instead of exercises only, is really important. That's why I try to always teach a new concept, technique, chord, etc through a real music situation. That way my students can really see their progress while learning at the same time. For advanced students we work together on a more focused approach towards their needs (technique, improvisation, harmony knowledge, etc)

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

I start by talking a little to get to know each other better, it's crucial for me to know what music do you like and what are your goals so that I can guide you through your learning process with confidence. After that I ask the student to play a little of what he knows already (if applicable) and take notes from it. Then I am ready to tell him what our plan is gonna be! I try to have my students playing complete songs as soon as possible.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

Learning guitar is a 70/30 process. I'll ALWAYS do my best to have you playing the best you can, as fast as you can. That's MY PART of the equation (70%) The other part is YOUR commitment and motivation, but since you are reading this I guess that has already been settled!!!

Here's a partial list: Rock: Beatles, Led Zep, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Dream Theater, Ozzy Pop: MJ, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, John Mayer Jazz: Blue note 50s era mostly, Rosenwinkel, Metheny Instrumental: Beck, Vai, Govan, Gilbert, Greg Howe Blues: SRV, Clapton, Gary Moore, Bonamassa A lot of Latin and Flamenco too!

Fee Schedule :

ALL LESSONS ARE AT THE STUDENTS PLACE. I live in Miami Gardens and can travel up to 20 miles for lessons (Aventura, N Miami, Doral, Hialeah, Pembroke Pines, Weston, etc) $50 per hour $30 per half hour $25 per hour, per student, for group lessons (2 or more people, up to 5 students)

My cancellation/booking policy :

No charge if notified at least 24 hours beforehand. A reschedule is encouraged, whenever possible.
