My teaching approach :

I am a 6th semester student at the Berklee College of Music in Boston MA.I have been playing for 8 years. I play gigs throughout southern oregon and have played many styles professionally all over the country. my approach is highly based on improvisation and music theory.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

I would probably start off with a quick jam to gauge your skill level. after that i would work from there, maybe show you some chord voicings or new scales. then i would pick a tune where you could utilize these new things and we would learn/play it.

Improvisation is the quickest way to judge someones skill level.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

open minded to all genres, willing to put in some time at home learning scales and theory concepts. a good person.
