My teaching approach :

We analyze the music into easily understandable concepts and techniques, which promotes a strong foundation for your playing. I use Aaron Shearer's "Classic Guitar Technique" as a handbook for my students along with other materials. I ask my students to invest in a tuner and a metronome. The student will learn music theory, how to read music, aural skills (ear), fingerboard techniques (slurs, hammer-ons, finger positioning, etc.), and musical phrasing. Experience: Ashland Guitar Quartet, Kabbage, Ha'ena, and solo bookings for weddings, wineries, corporate events. B.S. degree from SOU in Music.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

Every player is unique in style. Lessons are customized for each student depending on where you are and what you want to accomplish on the guitar. A typical lesson would involve healthy sitting and hand posture, picking techniques, arpeggios, scales, and playing through a piece of music together that you will take home with you to practice for the following lesson.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

Introductory lessons consist of meeting with you and asking about your interests with the guitar and where you would like to go, musically, followed by some playing to get a sense of where we currently are.
