My teaching approach :

My lessons are designed around the students needs and the way they feel comfortable learning. While I do eventually apply all the same topics to all of my students, it depends how and when I do this based on their skill level and personality. I have many materials for study that include scales, arpeggios, chords, improv, songwriting, note reading, theory, ear-training, and more. I am also writing a guitar book series on creative improvising. I have a studio fully equip with logic pro studio so we can record each session, jam, or work on improvising/songwriting. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

Most lessons begin with warm up exercises to build skill/speed/stamana, followed by scales/note-reading, then work on a song or specific goal you have. Everybody is different so every lesson is different. I always encourage the ability to write or improvise.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

I usually start off getting to know your personality, current skill level, and goals/favorite music. From there we can determine a path that will be both challenging and fun. I might have you play me a few songs, call out a few notes on the guitar for you to play, ask you to play some chords, or ask you to play a scale or two. If you're totally new, it's perfectly ok, that's why you're here. Be confident and know that you will always be improving

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

My ideal student will be respectful, fun, and also challenge me to grow as a musician as much as I help he/she grow as a musician. Everyone has something to teach us, student or master. This is the beauty of music. We all come from different backgrounds, so we all communicate differently through our instruments or art. And of course...my ideal student will practice and show improvement in his dedication. =)

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Monday through Friday; 12pm-9pm.

Fee Schedule :

Lessons are $25 an hour.

My cancellation/booking policy :

To secure a slot you must pay the month in full ($100). If you cancel within 24 hours you are entitled to a make up. If you cancel in less than 24 hours you are not entitled to a make up and will miss that lesson. You are allowed one make up a month. If you need to vacation I can drop you off the schedule until you get back so that you won't be charged.
