My teaching approach :

My teaching style is very relaxed but very firm, mainly to get my students to feel as comfortable as possible. It's much easier to build that teacher/student connection and to have a much more open minded lesson. I believe in having a solid foundation because that really makes you a solid, stable player/musician and speed will come naturally. I base my teaching out of the M.I curriculum. My current gear list is a PRS SE Single cut, Squire Stratocaster, Takamine G-240, Line 6 floor pod plus, Xotic EP Booster, Boss RC-2 and Route 66 OD. Im also recording through Logic Pro 8 and M-Audio

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

I shape my guitar lesson's based on my students interest and desires. On top of that, I like to focus on theory, reading and getting a good tone with your fingers. Your fingers are your bread and butter for getting good tone so thats a huge thing I encourage. I like taking an idea and adding concepts on top of that for fun and brain work. For ex: if you take a Major scale, how about playing it in 1 position through the cycle of 5ths. 2 in 1

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

In my introductory lesson, I like to get to know my student and I ask him/her a bit about their interest. I also ask the student to play something and then I can estimate how much they know on their instrument. Then I give a little quiz to see if they know chords, notes, frets, strings and etc. From there, I do a quasi chromatic exercise and then the lesson starts to take its shape. I set them up with an assignment and a goal for next lesson.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

My ideal guitar student is someone who is inspired to play. Im looking for students who are positive, interested in learning more, work hard on their craft, and dedicate at least 1 hour a day on practicing. My goal is to inspire and help these students grow as players/musicians and these little goals go a long way.

Monday-Sunday 10:00a.m. - 8:00 p.m

My influences are:

My big influences on guitar are John Mayer, Srevie Ray Vaughn, Adam Levy, Michael Landau, Doyle Bramhall 2, Robben Ford, Tomo Fugita, Jim Hall, Robert Johnson, Jack Johnson and Tommy Emmanuel just to name a few. Other musicians that interest me are Norah Jones, Ray Charles, Maroon 5, The Police, Bill Withers, Bob Marley and D'Angelo just to name a few.

My cancellation/booking policy :

I take student's for the minimum of 1 month due to learning reason and to get the most out of these lessons. As far as cancellations, I try to reschedule at your convenience.
