My teaching approach :

the student will receive a text book "essential guitar". i will be teaching chords, progressions, intervals, scales, patterns, lead, soloing, etc.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

teach the parts of the guitar. tuning. music theory. tabulature. basic chords, how chords are made. first songs. how to play by ear. scales, how scales are made. soloing, improvisation, etc.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

get the student aquainted with guitar. see how it fits in their lap, hands, comfortable? have them form hand around neck. stretch fingers fret to fret. form basic chords. comfortable? is this the instrument they want to learn?

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

focused, open, imaginative
