My teaching approach :

I am currently a music education major at Adelphi university. I have played in rock groups and with classical guitar ensembles. I have also performed on solo classical guitar and as a songwriter on acoustic guitar. I have been playing guitar for 7 years. I am willing to teach students any style that they like. Along with guitar playing skills I can also teach music theory and reading skills. I have also had experience playing the trumpet, harmonica, drums, electric bass and piano.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

Guitar lessons structure is based upon the student. Serious students will focus on theory and reading skills as well as song repertoire. Less serious students will work on songs and skills of their choosing. I have experience working with students of all ages.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

In the first lesson students are encouraged to play anything that they know for purposes of evaluation. If they have no playing experience the first lesson will consist of learning the parts and proper way of holding the instrument. The first lesson will also be used to find out what the student will like to learn in the next few lessons which will allow me to prepare a lesson plan.

My influences range from the classic rock guitarists such as Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton to classical performers such as Segovia and Christopher Parkening.

Fee Schedule :

$25- 30 mins $35- 45 mins $45- 1 hour Pay as you go no month or yearly rates. No contacts or commitments. Take as many lessons as you would like. Students usually take 1 lesson a week, students with less time on their hands are welcomed to take lessons every two weeks if they wish.

My cancellation/booking policy :

There are no cancelation fees, things happen I completely understand that. I just ask that you contact me as soon as you are aware of your schedule change. Makeup lessons, extra lessons and rescheduling is welcomed.
