You've always wanted to be able to pick up a guitar or a banjo and join in. Here's the opportunity to do exactly that. I'm an experienced guitar and banjo teacher specializing in the traditional modes. Folk, blues, bluegrass, fingerpicking in the Scruggs and Travis styles, flatpicking, clawhammer too. Plus instrument set up, selection and luthery. Market rates. Group lessons available. Some students study both guitar and banjo. One studies guitar and blues-harp. What are you interested in?

My teaching approach :

I build technique and proficiency while building repertoire. Each new song introduced will contain new and useful playing skills. By each lesson's end, the student will know new songs and be able to transfer the skills to others songs. Music is supposed to be fun. My method makes sure it is.

My cancellation/booking policy :

Since each lesson is prepared for the student's level, missed lessons are charged at full rate unless 24-hour notice is made via telephone, or 48-hour notice via e-mail. Expect students to have practices previous material and to arrive on time with their instruments, music ready to boogie.
