My teaching approach :

We'll work towards YOUR goals on the kind of music YOU want to learn. If you can commit to practice at least 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week, then you WILL learn to play the guitar! I do my best to make learning the guitar both FUN and productive. And when you're having FUN, then practicing the guitar is fun, too. My students who PRACTICE should start feeling confident and comfortable with the guitar within about 2 or 3 months. We can work on rhythm, lead, specific songs/artists/genres, improvisation, soloing, ear training, tone, songwriting/theory, or whatever else you like!

It is extremely important to understand that you won't become a guitarist just by showing up for lessons. My ideal student is willing to practice at LEAST 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week. More is obviously better! I would LOVE to add more intermediate/advanced players as students.

My influences are:

I have a lot of musical influences. I enjoy acoustic and electric guitar equally. On acoustic, I do a lot of fingerstyle playing, and I like to play blues, folk, celtic, and spiritual music. On electric, my playing is a mixture of rock, funk, blues, and metal.
