Jody Beard of Professional Music Training and Production in Lafayette, LA offers personalized guitar lessons and piano lessons to students of all ages. Jody has been a practicing professional musician for over 40 years, and now he delights in the opportunity to share the joy of music with his students.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

Jody custom-designs a lesson plan for each student as an individual, focusing on the student’s experience level, aptitude, and personal goals. His focus is on teaching the student a strong foundation in basic music theory, and also in meeting the goals each student has set for themselves. Teaching music is about having fun and learning something you love. Lessons are in a comfortable setting, and are held in Jody’s home studio.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

Every students first lesson is focused on the students goals and dreams that he or she have. I then ask that they play something so that I may evaluate their skill, then we talk about what direction for lessons we will take to increase their capabilities.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

I consider all students to be an ideal student. Some advance quicker and some work harder, but all have potential to grow.

I have so many influences. Their are many great guitarist to learn from. I urge students to break out of any one genre to expand their abilities and knowledge.

Fee Schedule :

Prospective students should know that lessons are typically 30 minutes in length. Students are asked to pay in advance for bundles of 4 lessons. Lessons are $25.00 each. $100.00 in advance.

My cancellation/booking policy :

There is a cancellation policy that requires 1 week of advance notice for a lesson cancellation. A missed lesson with no advance notice will be considered to be a lesson.
