My teaching approach :

My teaching approach is tailored to suit each individual student based on their needs and goals. I use many resources including, but not limited to, the Hal Leonard Guitar Method, materials I've developed, and materials and techniques I've learned from my teachers, including the late Jazz Guitarist Mike Elliot. My influences include BB King, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Joe Pass & Wes Montgomery One of the unique things I do is provide custom "jamming tracks" to students so they can practice with "a band" at home.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

It varies widely depending on the level the student is at. For beginners it will consist of working on learning the notes and chords. For intermediate students we'll work on some fundamentals and FUN-damentals. For advanced students we're working on improvising and more complicated chord voicings.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

The introductory lesson varies greatly depending on the experience, or lack of experience on the part of the student. Those with previous experience will play some examples of the tunes they know so I can assess their knowledge of notes, scales, chords and especially their technique.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

The ideal guitar student is so motivated to be a great guitarist, they find it easy to make time to practice very day.

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 6:30-9pm Saturday 9am-Noon

BB King, Eric Clapton, Joe Pass, Kenny Burrell, Chet Atkins, Mike Elliott, Carlos Santana, Howard Roberts

Fee Schedule :

My fee schedule is $60 per month for a weekly 30 minute lesson. This is due at the beginning of each month.

My cancellation/booking policy :

There are no refunds or credits. I make every attempt to schedule a make up lesson when a student has cancelled in advance. Make up lessons are not guaranteed and are dependent on my availability at a time convenient for my student.
