My teaching approach :

I am getting my masters in Music Performance (Guitar) at USM, where I am the guitar teaching assistant. I also have worked for many years as a guitar teacher in schools of music in Brazil.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

Whether the student wants to play classical or popular guitar, with a nylon or steel string guitar, he/she will learn subjects such as: •Posture of the body; •Posture of hands and fingers; •Basic right and left hand techniques; •Learn music by ear; •Tuning the guitar; •How to read music at the guitar; •How to play with other people. By playing classical guitar the student also will learn a more sophisticated guitar technique.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

In the introductory lesson, I usually work on the student body posture and how to hold the guitar. Then, I give the student basic concepts of right and left hand techniques. It is important to know not just "what" to play in the guitar, but also "how" to play whatever you have to play in the guitar.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

The ideal guitar student is that one that practice guitar (and not just play it) at least 30 minutes everyday. The ideal student wants to learn those music that he likes, but he is also open-minded and he wishes to know other kinds of music.

Fee Schedule :

$30,00 for 60 minutes lesson; or $100,00 for one month (usually, four lessons, depending the number of week days of the month).

My cancellation/booking policy :

We can reschedule a lesson if informed by the student at least one day before the lesson.
