My teaching approach :

I quickly work on counting before anything else, even without the guitar. Then I establish a student's technique and work on reading skills. Having these elements in place enables a student to easily learn music, quickly progress and ultimately enjoy music.

It really depends on the students. I have had students of all levels and aspirations, students who learned their favorite rock songs, worked through a beginner electric or classical method or those gearing up for college auditions. Lessons are tailored to each student's level and goals.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

The first thing I do is assess their musical, reading and technical skill. Depending on the student's age and aspiration I will start them on either classical or electric guitar and almost always have them begin to learn to read music.

I enjoy teaching students who eagerly listen to and follow instruction and therefore become strong players. When a student's playing improves the student and I both enjoy the experience and have fun!

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

M (anytime), T & W (mornings and afternons), R, F & Sa (anytime)

Fee Schedule :

I charge $40-100 per hour or $20-35 per half hour. The exact price is dependent on the location of the lesson (at the students' home or my studio) and pay rate (per lesson, monthly or seasonal). Please contact for more information.

My cancellation/booking policy :

Students can book lessons per session, by the month or seasonally. Students will receive make-up lessons due to teacher absence. In addition, a lesson may be rescheduled as long as the student gives at least 24 hours notice, but note that the teacher is not obligated to make up these lessons. If a student withdraws the remaining balance will be forfeited.
