My teaching approach :

I want my students to love playing the guitar and to enjoy learning it. My goal is to train skillful guitar players. I use many original techniques and methods that I have invented to teach them to play in ways that are designed to maximize their abilities.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

Review what was learned in previous lessons and add new material as the student is able to handle it. I like to play duets with my students to help them learn how to play with someone else.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

I find out what the student already knows and can play. I teach new beginners about their instrument and also teach them how to play a basic picking pattern, the chromatic scale, a basic strumming exercise, and one or more simple songs. Students with previous experience learn new material based on what they already know and can play.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

Someone who really wants to learn the guitar and have fun doing so.

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

M-F at various times that would work for both of us; occasional Saturday times for make-up lessons.

Fee Schedule :

$15 for 30-min lesson; $20 for 45-min lesson. Student pays at the beginning of each month. Special rates for group lessons. Various introductory packages based on the student's interests and needs, including special summer rates.

My cancellation/booking policy :

If the student cannot make it to a lesson and lets me know at least 24 hours in advance, we will reschedule the lesson at a time that works for both of us. Missed lessons sometimes may be made up by going longer on future lessons. No refunds.
