My teaching approach :

I teach classical fingerstyle to avanced rock guitar techniques and bits of everything in between. I have been private teaching for 22 years. I use books, tabs, the internet, whatever suits the individual student. Must have a guitar. have guitar amp for students who don't want to lug an amp and have full fledged digital recording studio w/Protools among others. I also play bass, piano/keyboard, mandolin and ukulele

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

It varies from student to student and is based on assessing what a student wants to learn ex. songs, solos, notes etc. This is understood after talking on the phone. If a student just wants to learn I start them with classical fingerstyle guitar

this is usually understood after speaking to a student or the parents of a young student. Usually the basics: intro to notes and the fingerboard. free stroke, rest stroke, how to fret with the left hand ex. leading up to whole songs.
