My teaching approach :

I have been teaching for over 14 years and performing professionally for about 20 years. I have a B.A. in music performance. I teach based on the gradiant method which means we set goals and make objective analysis of your progress towards these goals. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

We will keep a note book. We will work on 3-4 areas of study each week, of these items I will pick the first three based on the students needs to develope knowledge and proficiency of chords, scales, reading, rhythm, and repertoire. The remaining area of study is determined by the students personal interest.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

In the first lesson we will get to know each other a little and try to figure out what you already know, what you want to know, and how to get there.....by practicing with discipline, focus and artistry.

A good student is ambitious, motivated, and works hard to integrate the material into their own personal musical vocabulary.

I presently teach Monday-Saturday. The hours vary.

My influences are good music and musicians of all genres and types.

Fee Schedule :

Because I teach at two different stores, via skype, and I commute to my students homes, the fee shedule will vary.

My cancellation/booking policy :

I allow two unexcused absences a year for emergency purposes, I expect the same from my students. All other lesson absences must be scheduled in advance (48 hours or more). If a student misses several lessons consecutively, for any reason, it is in the students best interest to reschedule or make these lessons up.
