My teaching approach :
Guitar lessons should be fun! I’ll show you the fastest way through the fundamentals so you can start playing the music that inspired you to pick up the guitar in the first place. I customize my lessons to your goals - we’ll use the songs and styles you love as jumping-off points for learning the techniques and music theory you’ll need to become a better player. Learn how to read music, improvise, write songs, record and more! Lessons are available for players of all experience levels.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following
If you've already been playing a while, we can start wherever you want - maybe a particular song you've always wanted to know how to play, maybe a specific technique you need help with, etc. If you've never played the guitar before, then I'll start you on the fundamentals (see below for a description of a typical first lesson).
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following
If you've never taken a guitar lesson before, we'll start by walking you through the basics: the 12 note names, where those notes are on your guitar, how to tune, and a few common chords to practice. From there, we'll start working on chord transition speed, the most common scales, and reading rhythms and tablature. We can also start with some basic "one note at a time" songs to build up your coordination and finger strength.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following
The ideal guitar student is first and foremost a huge music lover - it has to start with a genuine love for music and an emotional connection with it in your life. The ideal student has both the focus and determination to learn the technical side of music making, and also has a curious and playful spirit that can take all that knowledge and technical ability and turn it into something beautiful by tinkering and experimenting.
Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:
Sunday 1-6 pm Monday 3-8:30 pm Tuesday 3-8:30 pm Wednesday 3-8:30 pm Thursday 3-8:30 pm Friday 3-6 pm

My cancellation/booking policy :
