My teaching approach :

The most important approach is to ensure that the student is having fun playing his/her instrument. I am a licensed/certified music teacher K-12 and was a Denver high school music teacher for 10 years.

All guitar students play on the bass guitar as well. This helps the student learn the notes on the top four strings, which is very important. All of my students look forward to playing the bass, and many switch to bass after a year.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

During the free introductory lesson, the student and I get to know each other. This is the time I spend learning what the student already knows, and evaluating the student's potential. Most students will learn their first song, as well as parts of the guitar.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

The ideal guitar student is one with a passion for music of any kind. The student is enthusiastic about the lesson and the material they are learning.

Fee Schedule :

$100/month for 4-30 minute lessons with a $10 discount if paid in Cash ($90/month). All students get their own web site where they receive lesson notes, download CD music the are working on, cancel/reschedule lessons, and much more.

My cancellation/booking policy :

Students book by the month. A 2 hour notice of a lesson cancellation is required unless there is an unforeseen reason. A moth's notice is needed to cancel all lessons.
