My teaching approach :

Learn the fingerstyle guitar techniques used in Blues, Folk and popular music. What you can expect from me: - Customized lessons tailored to your fingerstyle guitar goals. - Tab materials for basic exercises and introductory pieces. - Written reference sheets for guitar technique and music theory. I've had personal instruction from professionals including Jorma Kaukonen among others.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

I tailor lessons to suit the student's goals. Generally, I like to use a song as the focus of the lesson and teach the techniques and music theory that support that song.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

I invite the student to play me a sample song/piece that they feel demonstrates their current ability. I ask about their goals and encourage them to list a few songs or maybe artists that inspire them. I also play an example song to make sure they have a good sense of my abilities.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

Beginner or Intermediate acoustic guitar player that has a strong desire to learn fingerstyle guitar technique or move to the next level. Someone who enjoys the process as much as reaching the goal - it's all about the journey. :-)

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Mon-Thu, evenings at 7PM Sat mornings 10AM or 11AM.

Fee Schedule :

- Lessons are $50/hour. - Free introductory lesson.

My cancellation/booking policy :

* 24-hour Cancellation Policy * - Call to cancel or reschedule the lesson. - Cancellation less than 24-hours before the lesson incurs the full lesson fee. - The rules apply to me as well. If I fail to give you 24-hour notice of my need to cancel or reschedule the lesson, your next lesson is free.
