My teaching approach :
I like to keep my lessons as fun and engrossing for my students as possible. I like to mix essential techniques/methods for guitar with songs the students like. For beginners I like to start with the fundamentals of reading notes, rhythm, and playing techniques. More advanced students know what they want to learn and I break it down for them in ways they can understand and perform.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following
It really depends on the student and the skill level. I usually start with a warm up, either a scale or scale passage. Then I may have them play exercises from a method book. Then I may have them play a song we've been working on.
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following
I find out if they've played guitar before. I find out if they've played an instrument before. I find out if they can read notes or tabs. For young students, if they're new to music i'll decide to teach them how to read and play. If they can already play I'll ask what areas they want to work on.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following
The easy answer is one who practices. Walking into a lesson where the student didn't practice can be frustrating for the instructor and the student.
Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:
I travel to people home Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The hours are 12pm to 8pm. I may be able to do other days of the week, but the time isn't as flexible.
My influences are:
I took lessons with jazz guitarist Francis Varriichio when I was young. In college I took classical guitar lessons with Christopher Kenniff. I'm also influenced by classic rock and alternative music.

First lesson is free! After that it's $25/half hour or $40/hour. Payment is made for 4 lessons in advanced for a total of $100 or $160 every 4 weeks.
My cancellation/booking policy :
