My teaching approach :

Custom lesson program for guitar, bass, dobro, lap steel, and ukulele. I create individual lesson plans, programs, exercises, regimens and more based on students individual goals, stylistic preferences, ability etc. Students learn the techniques and theory they need to become proficient at the songs and styles they choose. Once we get some basics down, students are make a playlist in ipod or burn to CD of 12-20 songs to learn. They choose the songs, I choose the order we learn them. I direct our lessons towards applying skills we are current with, and building those we need for future songs!

Lessons vary widely depending on each individuals skills, abilities, goals, stylistic preferences and more. There is no "one size fits all" approach. I customize the lessons to suit individual needs and goals.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

Introductory lessons involves assessment of abilities, goals, stylistic preferences. I give an overview of my lesson plan and the many options available. We come up with a basic game plan which will evolve over time as growth occurs.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

Anyone interested, who wants a balanced program. I keep the focus on FUN while learning important skills. Students need to be patient, diligent, and should enjoy the journey. Practicing is encouraged, and I give clear regimens. But too many people give themselves a guilt trip when they get busy and don't practice as much as they think they should. I teach tolerance, acceptance, and patience...there is the ideal world and then the one we live in

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Mon - Thurs 10am-7pm Fri 10am-5pm

Fee Schedule :

$30 per 1/2 hour, $40 per 45 min and $50 per hour for regular students. Drop in's still need to schedule in advance and add $5 per 30 min. I do first lesson FREE with first month enrollment, ie 4 lessons for price of 3. Also FREE lesson for referrals! Sign up your friend and get one free also!

My cancellation/booking policy :

Lessons can be booked on per lesson basis. However month to month commitment encouraged for regular students. Sign up for the weeks you are available in advance, no problem to miss weeks you are gone. 24 hour policy for cancellations...24 hours or more notice grants make up or credit, while less than 24 hour notice is student forfeit of that lesson. Call or email for more details!
