lesson plans vary from student to student. Some people are very engaged in the technical aspect of learning, and the ear training part is very intuitive for them, or even easy. depending on a students interests and ability, we shape the overall lesson plan to cover repertoire, technique, theory, ear training and improvisation.
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following
If the student is a beginner , I like to help them try out different postures, and try to find a solid way for them to hold the instrument that works with their body type. if they have some experience already, I try to zero in on something that will get them to the next level, and give them something interesting to work on right away!
