My teaching approach :

I believe in customizing lessons for each individual student. Everyone learns at a different pace and each of us have different musical tastes, interests and goals. I do put a strong emphasis on students learning basic music theory and being able to read music as well as encouraging students to explore the guitar and start creating their own original compositions! All though reading music may not be necessary to accomplish your goals in guitar!

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

Most lessons begin with a quick tune up and a warm up exercise. We will go over the prior lessons homework and work on any difficulties or trouble spots. The last part of the lesson is spent going over new material (songs, scales, chords etc) any other topics or questions the student may have.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

I offer the first lesson for free!!! It's a time for me to evaluate you as a student. Also it's a time for you to evaluate me as a teacher! If you are an absolute beginner we will cover the basic parts of the guitar and how they work. The correct way to hold the instrument and posture needed to play. Also, the correct way to hold a pick. I also will teach a basic chord and simple picking pattern to get you playing right away!

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following

An ideal student is one who has the desire to learn a little or a lot about playing the guitar and music and who wants to put in the little dedication it requires to learn to play! Remember learning to play the guitar is what happens in between each lesson!

I currently offer lessons from 10am-6pm Monday through Friday. Lessons are available in 30 minute or one hour slots.

My main guitar influences include Billy Gibbons, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Howe, Jimmy Page, Rick Richards, Joe Bonamassa.

Fee Schedule :

My normal rates for lessons in my studio are as follows: 4/ 30 minute lessons for $100 per month 4/ 1 hour lessons for $160 per month. THE FIRST LESSON IS FREE! My rates to teach at your home are as follows: 4/ 30 minute lessons for $150 per month 4/ 1 hr lessons for $200 per month Sorry the first lesson free is only good for lessons taught at my studio. I offer a 10% family discount!

My cancellation/booking policy :

If you need to cancel a lesson I do require a 24 hour notice. Lessons will need to be made up before your next payment is due.
