My teaching approach :
I meet my students on their level and really work to make them the best players they can be. My main objective is to unlock my students' potential and then work to develop it beyond ordinary expectations. I have a true passion for music and it shows in my teachings. I am an upper-class music education at Reinhardt University (with a focus in classical guitar), and have extensive experience as a performer as well as an educator. Over the last 6 years, I have taught over 60 private students. I am well versed in many styles of guitar and guitar techniques.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following
All lessons are tailored to individual students' interests and vary greatly, but a generic lesson may include: - Left Hand Finger Exercises - Chording Exercises and Song Excerpts - Alternative Picking Practice - Lead Guitar/Jamming Skills - Improv. - Sheet music skills - Ear Training
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following
The introductory lesson is spent with me finding out as much as I can about the students abilities and interests. I also address any immediate problems that I see in the students' playing (if any are present). Finally, I offer many tips and exercises to get my students started on the right foot.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following
My ideal student does not have to necessarily be the most talented or skilled player. Instead, I enjoy a guitar student that is passionate about learning and improving their skill and musical passion.
