My teaching approach :

I use my degree in music performance from U/M for teaching. Students might learn rock guitar, but in the same way we would for classical study: Analyze the music by Scales/ chords--Rhythm/ timing,--Phrases/motives-- Fingerings. I think this approach helps students to learn the music faster, and provides a set of tools for anyone who wants to improvise or write music—easier but similar for kids.

$25/half hour in Ann Arbor $15/half hour in Fenton (payable Monthly) $40/half hour in student's home
