My teaching approach :
Whether you're a beginner who doesn't know an A Chord from a pick-up... or an advanced player looking to futher develop your chops, techniques, improvisational abilities, etc.-- I CAN HELP YOU! Guitar Lessons are a dime a dozen on the web. But committed Guitar Coaches who care about students... who will mentor you aren't so easy to find. This is what I offer students.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following
I teach half-hour lessons, so... First 5 minutes we settle in, say, "Hello" and tune up. Next 20 minutes we dive in--first we go over the past week's lesson and make any tweaks we need to make--then we move forward to the next step. Final 5 minutes--I get your LESSON EMAIL ready--which includes any pdf, audio, etc. you need to master the lesson that week... I hit "SEND" and you're off... It's worked beautifully for my students.
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following
My first lesson is always FREE. It's a get acquainted session. We talk about your goals and how we can reach them. With beginners I use the first lesson to introduce them to the anaomy of the guitar--frets, names of strings, how to hold a pick, etc. and we learn a fun/simple melody--jstu get our fingers moving.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following
My ideal student-- 1) wants to learn... and 2) is willing to practice their lesson at least 5 days each week for 20 minutes. If you can give YOURSELF that---you will absolutely learn to play!
Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:
I teach on Thursdays and Fridays--afternoons and early evenings.
My influences are:
Too many players to name---but in general--I cut my guitar-playing-teeth listening to the classic rock of the 70s and the hair metal bands of the 80s.
Fee Schedule :
Private Lessons are $15/half-hour lesson. I receive payment via cash/check at the end of each week's lesson.
My cancellation/booking policy :
I ask that students call me as early as possible if they are going to miss a lesson. Unfortunately I'm too busy to do make-up lessons. Sorry. I have a more detailed explanation of this policy at guitarjams.net.
Which methods of payment are accepted?
Cash, Checks, Money Orders, Paypal
I have been teaching guitar for:
15 Year(s)
