My teaching approach :

I guide the student in developing their own personal voice in modern day with regard to music's history of styles from classical to 20th century abstraction, blues, jazz/improvisation, heavy math-rock, shred, and other modern trends since the Beatles. Having a B.A. Honors in Music and 17 years in music, I'm sharing my experience with others.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

I listen to the student and discuss musical concepts which will ultimately help shape their sound. The student is the musician, not the jukebox.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

Bring in a song from the previous week, a question, or bring in nothing. Within minutes I will have plenty of ideas ready to share.

Everyone in the last 400 years of Music. Bud Powell, Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, Gilad Hekselman. Modern influences everyone from Vernon Reid to Tony Abasi to Dillinger Escape Plan... Shoenberg, Debussy, Ravel.
