My teaching approach :

I have studied guitar for over 15 years with many prominent local musicians and professors at URI. My approach is that the lesson is whatever the student wants it to be. For younger students, I expose them to different types and styles of music to see what grabs their interest and we work the lessons in that direction. For older students, we do whatever they are interested in - from transcribing and learning songs to mastering the instrument, songwriting, etc.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following

The lesson would be whatever you want it to be. For younger students there is much more structure, but for older ones it is wide open. Learn your favorite songs; apply music theory to write your own songs; improvise over jazz tunes, etc.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following

I get a gauge on the students knowledge base, technical skills, and interests. Then I create lessons that fit their needs and desires.

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

Monday-Thursday 12-8 pm.

Fee Schedule :

$20 for a half hour, $30 for an hour. If I travel to you, there could be a small travel fee such as $5 per lesson.

My cancellation/booking policy :

Give me atleast 24 hours notice and I will do my best to fit you into my schedule to make up the lesson.
